The pot is rated at 5 gallons without including the head space in the domed lid for steam. All silver solder, hand cleaned and brushed copper. Small cosmetic differences in the copper fittings or the pot lid may occur as each one of these stills is custom built. What's included: 100% copper & silver solder Column Stainless Steel Boiler with torch braised fittings Stainless Steel Thumper with torch braised fittings Copper Connection lines Instructions (if you need any help with assembly just message me, I may take a day or two but I will get back to you) Hoses for running cooling water through the condenser + hose clamps Thermometer Drilled Cork Metal Clips to clamp down lid of boiler and thumper Teflon (PTFE plumber's tape) for seals (you'll need more of this for additional runs, or flour to make paste) If you have any questions or concerns while using this still feel free to let me know.

A:After quite a bit of research, there is no other reusable material that makes a soft seal except for natural materials like cork or wood. Teflon doesn't react with ethanol or the other trace volatile ethers and esters that can come with distilling. That being said, if you'd rather use the flour paste method for every seal that is more than doable. (Flour and ptfe tape not included, very easy to find locally) Q:What is the width of the copper pipe used? A:The column and condenser jacket are 3/4.

The condenser itself is 1/2. A: The thumper basically gives you 2 boils at the same time, dramatically increasing the quality of whatever you're distilling while also shortening the time needed to distill it. This is a functional art sculpture ONLY.

It is illegal to distill alcohol in the United States without proper licensing. Please, do not use this item for the distillation of alcohol unless you live where it is legal to do so or have the proper permit.

Under Federal rules administered by TTB, you may not produce alcohol with these stills unless you qualify as a distilled spirits plant.
